Our Lady of the Rosary Nursery provides an exciting, stimulating introduction into early education. The Nursery is delighted to now be able to provide parents the flexibility to choose either a morning or whole day session. A whole day session is an excellent opportunity to enable children to start their education in close association with our school from the age of three. We aim to provide the best possible start to each and every child’s educational journey by promoting independence and confidence; developing personal and academic skills; modelling core values within our strong Catholic community and help to nurture a love of learning.
The areas of learning we cover in the foundation stage are the following:
- Communication and Language
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
We will work closely alongside your child to enable us to plan activities and learning opportunities that are based on their needs, interests and knowledge. The children will have access to indoor and outdoor learning experiences with a range of different activities such as water, sand, role play, art and crafts, mark making, number work, cutting activities and playdough. Throughout the year the children will also learn new skills and explore nature in our forest school area.
The Nursery work closely with the reception classes and will have opportunities to free flow between all the classrooms and foundation stage learning areas. They will become familiar with all staff within the Early Years setting and this will provide a fantastic transition for any child continuing their education at Our Lady of the Rosary school.
