Our Lady of the Rosary

Year 3

Home Learning Page

Please read your reading book every night focusing on fluency, pace and meaning.

Share your book with your family and see if you are able to summarise the story and what might happen next. Can you answer questions about the text or use examples from the story to justify your opinions?  Don’t forget to get an adult to sign your Reading Record Book every time you read.

To practise your cursive handwriting, copy a few sentences from your reading book.

By the end of Year 3 you should be joining your handwriting fluently - don’t forget that lower case letters start from the line!

Begin to learn the spellings on the Year 3 list.

Practise writing out your spellings, then cover them up and write them again to see if you are right.

In Year 3 we will be working with numbers up to 10,000.

Practise counting on and back from a given number in ones, tens, hundreds and thousands.  What patterns do you notice?

By the end of Year 3 you will need to know all of the times tables (2-12).  You can use your login for Times Tables Rock Stars to practise your tables.
